The worst kept secret in NJ politics is out: according to the NJ Globe, Bill Spadea is announcing that he’s running for Governor.
But don’t be fooled - you should be aware that Spadea’s candidacy is a nightmare for conservatives: Spadea turned his back on President Trump in January of 2021, and continued to attack Trump just a few months ago. Spadea’s “fundraising” hasn’t benefitted conservatives - it’s benefitted Spadea personally. And Spadea wants to see President Trump’s Republican Party go extinct - even working with Democrats as they used lawfare to remove a local Republican Party chairman.
The truth is: Bill Spadea isn’t a real conservative - he’s just a phony radio talk show host and political opportunist.
As Republicans reeled after the 2020 elections, Spadea was quick to abandon ship. Spadea declared Trump a failure on January 14, 2021! Spadea continued to criticise President Trump throughout Biden’s presidency - even saying Trump shouldn’t run for President in 2024 because it was time for “new blood.” As President Trump campaigned in Iowa last winter, Spadea doubled down, saying "forget about your position on President Trump now, but he failed."
The proof Spadea’s in this for himself? Let’s look at his fundraising operation - the one that “spent about 99.7 percent of its expenses on stuff other than helping candidates.” What did Spadea spend the money he raised for conservatives on? Well, Spadea’s groups paid him a handsome $65,000 salary, while “donating just a tiny percentage of its earnings to actual candidates and campaigns.”
And if that’s not bad enough, Spadea wants to bury the Republican Party. He thinks the Trump’s GOP should go the way of the Whigs - that is, extinct. And he’s partnered with Democrats who used tried to pass a law to remove a local GOP party chairman.
As the Spadea for Governor operation spins up, taking radio interviews out of context, claiming a track record of success - the truth is: Bill Spadea isn’t a real conservative. He’s just a phony radio talk show host and political opportunist.
